After 12 years with Hebridean, Captain Ian Stevenson has taken up a new position as Chief Officer with Caledonian MacBrayne ferries.
Ian joined Hebridean Island Cruises as Second Officer in 2001, rapidly earning promotion to First Officer. He was appointed as Master in March 2007 and has captained both Hebridean Princess and the former Hebridean Spirit.
Ian grew up in Oban with a keen interest in all things nautical and is delighted to continue sailing in the west coast waters which he knows so well.
He has been a splendid Master in the years he has been with the company and will be greatly missed.
As Hebridean Princess embarks on her 2014 season, she will have a new Captain at the helm.
Captain Trevor Bailey will be well known to many loyal guests as he has worked with the company in a number of roles since 1999 and has acted as relief Master on several occasions. We are delighted to welcome Trevor back as permanent Master and he will take his first command of the ship on 5th March.
