Head along the Southern Upland Way or take in the Mediterranean feel of Logan Botanic Gardens strolling afterwards at Port Patrick, picturesquely hugging its harbour. Off Kintyre, savour the seclusion of Sanda Island, a Site of Special Scientific Interest renowned for its bird colonies. With the walkers, explore the less trodden trails of the Kintyre Way, or visit the family-owned Springbank Distillery at Campbeltown and the atmospheric ruins of Tarbert Castle.
Past the legendary Mull of Kintyre, rugged Rathlin offers walks to East Lighthouse and Bruce's Cave with breathtaking panoramas to sea.
