3 Apr 2012- 7 nights
From $4510 pp
on Hebridean Princess
Tuesday 3rd Apr to Tuesday 10th Apr 2012
7 nights

Land on the unspoilt wildlife haven of Eigg for tranquil walks beneath pitchstone An Sgurr, or a leisurely stroll by the landing stage.

Onwards to Rum, visit the extravagant frivolity of 'La Belle Epoque' at the Bulloughs' Kinloch Castle, fitted with the latest inventions of the day. Cruising Loch Nevis into the wilderness of Knoydart, sense its isolation on strolls at Inverie, enjoying a drink at The Old Forge, the remotest pub on mainland Britain.

On Skye, look back into Clan MacDonald history at Armadale Castle, set in 40-acre gardens dating back over 200 years. Contrast the unusual artist's garden at Attadale, framing spectacular views of Skye and the west coast, which was superbly re-modelled by its owner, Nick MacPherson, after the 1980 storm. Onwards to Kyle of Lochalsh, enter 'Ring of Bright Water' country on the otter paradise of Eilean Bàn, former home of writer and naturalist Gavin Maxwell.

Cruising to privately owned Ulva we visit Sheila's Cottage Museum. On Iona, where St Columba began his mission in 563, linger in the restored abbey, or walk to the Bay at the Back of the Ocean. Sit back as Hebridean Princess sails past the rocky Garvellachs, also linked with St Columba, en route for mainland Argyll.

On our last day, amble the peaceful paths of the Crinan Canal, dubbed 'the most beautiful shortcut in the world', and the lush woodland gardens of Arduaine, ablaze with vivid blooms, in an unforgettable finale.
